Together with other sector stakeholders in the water and sanitation sector, drawn from private water and sanitation actors, public water service providers, civil society organizations, external support agencies and research and learning partners; WaSHVoice participated reviewing the memorandum to the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation on amendment of water and sanitation act 2023.

Workshop attended by sanitation sector stakeholders to review the sanitation report generated from the Sanitation accountability symposium on 26th and 27th April 2023. The participants build consensus on the outcomes of the report and suggested implementation activities for the suggested approach.

WaSHVoice set up a Sanitation Pavilion to bring together practitioners, experts and policy makers in the Sanitation space. Themed “Sanitation, speak up”, at the WASPA conference, the pavilion provided an opportunity to prioritize sanitation. The idea behind the Sanitation Pavilion was to provide a platform of reinforcing awareness and discussing prioritization of sanitation in conferences where sanitation and water share a platform, water supply and provision takes primacy

The first Sanitation Accountability Symposium (SanAccS-2023) brought together professionals, actors and stakeholders in on-site sanitation (Sanitationists) to discuss, exchange ideas and thoughts, and share experiences in sanitation. The symposium was geared towards defining and refocusing sanitationists to the True North in Sanitation (TNS) and to build the momentum towards SDG6.2 (sustainable sanitation for all) and as a catalyst for “International Decade for Action – 2018-2028. Stakeholders discussed ways to contribute towards achieving SDG 6 which seeks, "to ensure clean water and sanitation for all," while also enhancing the health and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sectors in Kenya. The conference gave stakeholders the chance to think about how the findings might be incorporated into upcoming national, county, and WASH strategies.
